The following communication was forwarded to Warren Motte, guest editor of the recent special issue on Jacques Jouet (SubStance Vol. 30, no. 3, 2001), by Jacques Jouet himself. It is apparently penned by one Jean-Charles Baduli, who was scheduled to contribute an essay to that issue, but who was unable to meet our deadline.
